Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 14, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Remote Freedom (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our job board and resume tools (the “Service”). We aim to collect only what we need, be clear about how we use it, and give you control.
1. Information we collect
- Email address — when you sign in with a magic link or match your resume.
- Resume content — the file you upload and the structured data we parse from it (skills, experience, titles).
- Consent choices — whether you opted in to recruiter outreach and job-alert emails, and when.
- Usage and device data — pages viewed, actions taken, and basic device/browser information, collected through privacy-conscious product analytics.
2. How your resume is handled
When you use the match tool, your resume is parsed in memory to score your matches and is not stored on our servers. If you save a resume to your account (for example, to tailor resumes without re-uploading), we store it so you can reuse it. If you opt in to recruiter outreach, we also maintain a non-identifying search index of your skills and experience so recruiters can be matched to relevant candidates; that index does not contain your contact details.
3. How we use your information
- to score how well your resume matches roles and to generate tailored resumes;
- to operate, secure, and improve the Service;
- to understand which features help people (product analytics);
- only if you opt in — to share your resume with recruiters on your behalf and to email you new roles you qualify for.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your resume with recruiters unless you have explicitly opted in.
4. Legal bases (where applicable)
Where laws such as the GDPR apply, we rely on: your consent (for recruiter outreach and marketing emails, which you can withdraw at any time); performance of a contract (to provide the tools you ask for); and our legitimate interests (to secure and improve the Service), balanced against your rights.
5. Who we share data with
We use a small set of trusted service providers who process data on our behalf under contract, including:
- cloud hosting and database providers that store your account data;
- AI providers that parse resumes and generate tailored content;
- a product-analytics provider;
- an email provider for sign-in links and, if you opt in, job alerts; and
- if you enable auto-apply, a hosted-browser infrastructure provider (currently Browserbase, Inc., including its residential-network operator) that runs the browser session in which your resume and application answers are entered — only while a session you started is running.
Recruiters receive your resume only if you opted in to recruiter outreach. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the Service and its users.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access, correct, or delete your personal information;
- withdraw consent for recruiter outreach or job-alert emails at any time;
- request a copy of your data (portability); and
- object to or restrict certain processing.
To exercise any of these, email austin@remotefreedom.jobs. You can unsubscribe from job-alert emails using the link in any email. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already took place.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use privacy-conscious analytics to understand product usage. Where required, we ask for your consent to non-essential cookies/analytics through an in-product banner, and you can change your choice at any time. Essential cookies needed to sign you in and keep you signed in are always used.
8. Data retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, then delete or anonymize it within a reasonable period, unless a longer period is required by law. Resumes used only for a match are not retained. You can ask us to delete your data at any time.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including access controls and encryption in transit. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we put appropriate safeguards in place for such transfers.
11. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will update the “last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
13. Contact
