About the role

We are looking for a Java Developer to join a project in the electric vehicle manufacturing industry in the Middle East. This role is focused on integrations and distributed systems, so we are looking for someone who is enjoys understanding how services communicate, investigating issues, working with logs, APIs, queues, authentication, and infrastructure. What you’ll be doing • Collaborate with Project Managers, Solution Architects, and stakeholders to design and implement MuleSoft APIs tailored to business needs. • Conduct technical analyses to translate business requirements into actionable solutions. • Create RAML Specifications to serve as API contracts during development. • Design and develop DataWeave scripts for complex data transformation tasks. • Apply API-Led Connectivity principles to create scalable and reusable integration layers. • Configure and manage API policies in API Manager. • Deploy APIs across diverse environments, including CloudHub, Runtime Fabric, and On-Premise workers. • Enhance development processes with CI/CD pipeline automation. What we’re looking for • 2+ years of commercial Java development experience • Good understanding of REST/HTTP • Ability to read and work with OpenAPI specifications • Experience working with message queues • Basic Kubernetes knowledge: kubectl, pod logs, namespaces • Understanding of TLS, keystores/truststores, JKS/PKCS12 and certificate chains • Experience working with JSON and XML • Understanding of data transformation between systems • Experience with logs and monitoring tools such as ELK, Splunk or similar • Understanding of OAuth2 / token-based authentication, including client credentials, refresh tokens, and the difference between 401 and 403 • Practical experience with Log4j/Log4j2, including log levels, configuration files and output patterns • Understanding of JVM basics: heap, GC, thread dumps, heap dumps and typical OOM issues • Strong troubleshooting skills, especially in distributed systems • Good English communication skills Nice to have • Experience with MuleSoft or other integration platforms • Experience working with enterprise integrations • Experience supporting production systems • Understanding of microservices architecture • Experience in fintech, automotive, manufacturing or other complex enterprise environments Production Support As this is an integration-heavy project, the role also includes a period of production support. During the first couple of months, you may need to participate in a support rotation that includes: • Evening support shifts • Two weekend days per month • Additional compensation for support shifts and weekend work After the initial support period, the role will primarily focus on development and integration work.
