About the role

Role Title: Lawyer Role Type: Contractor Location: Remote micro1 is selecting Lawyers to contribute valuable legal expertise to a customer’s project focused on reviewing and drafting legal documents. In this role, you'll apply your expertise to help train next-generation AI systems. Your work will shape how models learn, reason, and perform through high-quality, real-world input. No prior experience in AI is required — your domain knowledge is what matters. Contributors will focus on analyzing sample contracts, identifying and flagging risky or problematic clauses, and providing clear, concise explanations of legal concepts for non-lawyers. All engagement data will be public or synthetic, ensuring no confidential or proprietary client information is used. Scope of Work • Review sample or template contracts and other legal documents to assess clarity, enforceability, and risk. • Identify, analyze, and flag potentially risky or problematic clauses, providing detailed written commentary. • Draft brief memos summarizing findings, key risk areas, and suggested improvements for each document reviewed. • Conduct basic legal research using only public sources to inform document analysis and recommendations. • Translate complex legal concepts into clear, accessible language for non-lawyer audiences. • Adhere strictly to confidentiality and conflict-of-interest protocols, working exclusively with public or synthetic data. Preferred Qualifications • Juris Doctor (JD) degree with active or lapsed bar membership in any U.S. jurisdiction. • 4+ years of practice experience, with a strong focus on document-heavy legal work (e.g., contracts, compliance, transactions). • Demonstrated expertise in contract drafting, review, and risk assessment. • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for explaining legal concepts to diverse audiences. • Meticulous attention to detail and a methodical approach to legal analysis. • Proven commitment to confidentiality and careful management of conflicts of interest. • Experience working with or interest in technology, AI, or legal operations is a plus.
