About the role

We are looking for a Technical Product Manager to own and drive the product backlog from strategy through execution. This role is ideal for someone who can translate product vision into clear, actionable work for engineering teams, make decisions independently, and keep delivery moving in a fast-paced technical environment. You will work closely with engineering and data teams to define priorities, clarify requirements, manage delivery risks, and ensure engineers have the context they need to execute effectively. What You’ll Do • Own the product backlog end to end in Azure DevOps, including epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritization. • Lead sprint planning, backlog refinement, and sprint reviews. • Translate product vision into a clear, sequenced roadmap and confidently defend priorities when new requests arise. • Turn ambiguous requirements into well-defined, actionable work that engineers can execute independently. • Identify unresolved requirements and drive them to clear decisions rather than passing ambiguity to the engineering team. • Unblock engineers on a day-to-day basis by providing context, clarification, and timely decisions. • Coordinate priorities and dependencies across engineering and data teams. • Identify and communicate scope, timeline, and delivery risks early and clearly, primarily through written communication. • Partner with data teams to understand whether required metrics and reporting capabilities exist in the data warehouse and whether they are available at the appropriate level of detail. • Help ensure product requirements are technically feasible, measurable, and aligned with business goals. Requirements • 5+ years of experience owning a software product backlog, with at least 2 years working on a technical product directly alongside engineering teams. • Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, including Boards, work item hierarchies, queries, iterations, and backlog management. • A proven track record of translating broad or loosely defined product vision into an executable backlog and delivery plan. • Strong data fluency and the ability to have meaningful conversations with data engineers about tables, data grain, metrics, and data quality without needing to write production SQL. • Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to communicate requirements, decisions, priorities, and risks clearly and concisely. • Strong product judgment and the ability to make decisions independently without unnecessary escalation. • The confidence to challenge requests, establish priorities, and say no when necessary. Nice to Have • Experience in martech, advertising operations, SaaS, or reporting/analytics platforms. • Experience working with franchise or multi-location businesses, particularly environments where franchisor control and franchisee autonomy need to be balanced. • Exposure to Microsoft Fabric and/or Power BI. • Experience establishing or improving a product delivery process for a team that previously lacked a structured approach.
