The Managing Editor plays a central role in leading and elevating content operations that support our agency's and portfolio of discerning, accomplished clients. This position works directly with client stakeholders, oversees a team of experienced writers, shapes strategic content services, strengthens processes, expands our offerings, and plays a key role in articulating the mission, vision, and impact of both companies. Strategy & Scope: Agency-side: • Act as the editorial anchor for the agency's content engine — working across brand strategy, storytelling, publication channels, and client deliverables. • Collaborate closely with leadership (Web Development, Creative Design, Account Management) to define and scale the services menu: newsletter development, social content, thought leadership amplification, ghost-writing, book authorship. • Ensure that content created for clients aligns with their "ownable message" and the agency's methodology (distinct experience + expertise + purpose). • Drive continuous process improvement — identify bottlenecks, implement editorial workflows, monitor metrics to maintain quality, speed, and scalability. • Support growth of the client roster and services while safeguarding editorial excellence and brand integrity. Graviten-side: • Drive editorial strategy across Graviten's product ecosystem — newsletter builders, AI post generation, portal site content defaults, and lifecycle-based resource libraries. • Translate complex brand strategy, marketing best practices, and sales psychology into user-friendly, pre-built content experiences that feel personalized and scale. • Support the creation of modular content templates aligned to stage-based journeys, enabling high-performing professionals to show up with credibility and consistency. • Ensure all content reflects Graviten's brand voice: empowering, enterprise-credible, and conversion-aware. Key Responsibilities • Lead, mentor, and manage a small team of writers to produce high-caliber content across formats and uphold editorial standards. • Oversee the editorial calendar: prioritize assignments, allocate resources, set deadlines, and ensure alignment with client strategy and brand voice. • Review and approve all client-facing copy for clarity, impact, brand voice consistency, and compliance where applicable. • Partner with content design, web development, and distribution teams to ensure content is optimized for channel, client goal, and measurement. • Collaborate on thought-leadership content that articulates both companies' positioning, service innovation, and market insights. • Track and report on editorial performance metrics — turnaround time, revision rate, client satisfaction, content engagement — and drive continuous improvement. • Stay current with industry trends in content marketing, personal and executive branding, storytelling formats, and platform dynamics. KPIs: • Editorial turnaround time — from kickoff to delivery. • Revision rate — percentage of content requiring major rewrites. • Client satisfaction — measured via feedback and surveys. • Growth in content service offerings — new formats delivered annually. • Thought-leadership output — number of published pieces and inbound interest generated. • Team retention — writer and freelancer retention and effective capacity planning.
